Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by John S — 23 Dec 2008
You can really tell that this was filmed during the cold war. The acting was well done (you have to keep this in context with the era it was filmed).
I found Klaatu to be an interesting character (although he would also seem weird even by the 1950â??s concept). Gort adds to the air of unknown and the special effects were well done.
This movie should be a requirement for any science fiction lover or someone studying the cold war (it will show how the cold war affected art).
