Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by Serdar C — 31 Dec 2008
I've been wanting to see this for a long time, now with the occasion of the recent remake I thought it was time. It was a very good sci-fi considering the year it's made and it had a very strong message to give. I haven't seen the remake and it looks bad but I'm sure Keanu is not bad as Klaatu with his expressionless face.
And I hope they used this same dialog as it's very up to date:
Klaatu: I'm impatient with stupidity. My people have learned to live without it.
Mr. Harley: I'm afraid my people haven't. I'm very sorry... I wish it were otherwise.
Well, Our people still haven't learned to live without stupidity!
So, the world still stands still.
