Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by Steven F — 17 May 2009
The drama, moral messages, and utter creepiness of Gort, the robot make this a great classic. Klaatu, an alien from a group of worlds in our galaxy, comes to earth to see if we are a threat. This is a must see.
Special effects are not groundbreaking, but the story and message make this a classic that stands the test of time. If you havent seen either version, see this one first.
