Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by Chance L — 12 Jun 2010
When you put it all together, this is one of the best peace messages in a film. This classic from director Robert Wise brings together great characters, a terrific story, and wonderous (at the time) special effects, and one of the most terrifying, yet cool aliens you will ever meet: Gort.
Many people have forgotten this one over the years, but I haven't. One of the greats.
