Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by Debbie P — 28 Aug 2010
I give "The Day The Earth Stood Still" five stars! This is a fantastic movie from 1951. Michael Rennie stars as an alien (who looks human) who lands on earth with his space ship and his robot Gort.
He wants the people of earth to get along and have no more war, or he will have no choice but to destroy it. He takes on the name of "Carpenter" and moves into a boarding house where he befriends a single mom (played by the always wonderful Patricia Neal) and her young son.
I love this movie and I highly recommend it.
