Robert Wise's science fiction classic The Day the Earth Stood Still is ofcorse not great insence of special effects, but that is what a science fiction fans like, the special effects even how poor they are.

It's candy, is fun. The Day the Earth Stood Still begins with alot of panicking all around the world because of a fast fying unidentified flying object which circles around the globe in a speed unknown to mankind.

But it's finally decides to land in President's Park in Washington, D.C. The goverment send out the army to surround the Flying saucer while a audience of civilians watches the incredible thing from another planet.

What will happen what's inside the Flying saucer? To find out, watch the movie. This is for me a exciting movie, it's special effects doesn't distracts me, I just play along with it. Thumbs up.
