Review of The Day the Earth Caught Fire (1961) by Dougie C — 11 Jan 2010
Terrific sci-fi! Monty Norman's ominous score and the sun bleached empty streets of London make for a gripping opening. From there it never seizes up as writers at the Daily Express suss that a couple of big bombs have caused the Earth to tilt and head towards the sun.
Makes you sweaty just thinking about it.
