Review of The Day of the Locust (1975) by Sandeep A — 04 Aug 2007
Hardly a masterpiece, but well worth your time, this poison-pen letter to Hollywood is most notable for a) one of the most horrific acts of murder ever committed on screen, b) the fact that said murder is committed by a character named Homer Simpson.
Reasonably tame by today's standards it's still a good examination of the shallow, vicious world that Hollywood pretends it's not.
