Review of The Day of the Jackal (1973) by Frederick C — 03 Jun 2007
Throw the Bruce Willis remake of this film into the bin and then settle down to watch this master work of thriller film making. Edward Fox is the most debonair contract killer you could imagine, he tootles through Europe driving a white MG, wearing a cravat and smile whilst all the time he is working in his plan to assassinate Charles de Gaul.
The scenery and meticulous factual detail adds to the air of heightening tension throughout the film. So good you will be riveted to the edge of your seat ? and that will be after you have seen at least three times.
