Review of The Day of the Jackal (1973) by Steve L — 08 Sep 2007
This film's way too long. Consequently, a snail could rival the pace it moves at.
It's also quite annoying that virtually the entire cast speak with posh English accents - even those who are pretending to be French.
A lot of the acting is really wooden, and extras playing insignificant roles are sometimes laughable when spontaneously engaging in rhubarb-rhubarb-type speech.
I don't doubt that in 1973 this was a very clever suspense-ridden plot, but in 2007, it's long since been superceded.
