Review of The Day of the Jackal (1973) by Dave R — 02 Oct 2010
This film is a classic. I hadn't seen it for a long time but i've been reading a book that talked about the OAS and decided to watch it again. understanding the social context of the time period helped me get more out of it this time.
It's a long film but I really liked the care that put into the details of the story. they wouldn't make it like this nowadays. the only problem I had with the film comes at the end - I was cheering for the assassin!
