Review of The Day After Tomorrow (2004) by Andrew W — 09 Mar 2013
Our FFFN (postponed to Saturday because Calum and I went to the theatre) A bit silly really, awesome scenes of cataclysm, the tidal wave into New York was probably the best bit, the ropey CGI wolves possibly the worst.
Loud and brash, boys liked it, script embarrassingly twee often as clanging as the climatic destruction. Emmerich is definitely sliding down the hill from his directorial pinnacle of Independence Day, he does big budget, but in this film he lost the ability not to take the popcorn movie too seriously.
