Review of The Day After Tomorrow (2004) by Stanley K — 02 Jun 2013
Just an average sci-fi movie. It doesn't ask any deep questions or deal with any big themes. The things that the movie are the actors and some spectacular special effects. It does have some social commentary about the green house effect and how it can do stuff that isn't good for the planet.
The directing and action scenes, including the peril scenes, are very well directed and very well put together. But of all that, I left the movie feeling empty. It didn't change me in any way or convince me of something.
It's just quality entertainment with a little bit of social commentary.
