Review of The Day After (1983) by Scott J — 17 Dec 2008
There are some dull and depressing parts before the missiles are launched. Being from Illinois I find scenes about farming quite boring. Seeing all of those people die from radiation poisoning creeped me out, especially at the end when all of their hair was falling out. As it says at the end, this movie only mildly presents how horrible a nuclear war would be.
Please don't write this movie off just because it was made-for-TV. It's thought provoking and was the most widely viewed made-for-TV film ever made. It deserves honorary status with feature length theatrical films.
