Review of The Dawn (2006) by Luv L — 24 Apr 2007
Wow. The left-over bad horror was truly horrible.
The Dawn is a very low budget film about a group of inner city students who go to their professor's house in the country for an "extra credit" weekend of recreating a pre-Christianity ritual. Why does anyone think this is a good idea? Who knows? But these kids go. And they all try to act and then die horribly. The only good thing to happen in the entire film.
Andre the Butcher is supposed to be funny like Dead and Breakfast and it isn't. I had occasional laughs. But mostly groans. Andre, played by Ron Jeremy, is an undead killer who comes after a group of cheerleaders and a couple of escaped convicts. There's some blood. A bunch of stereotypes and a some implied sex. I can't recommend it. But I've seen worse things.
