Review of The Darwin Awards (2007) by Michael T — 24 Mar 2010
I finally had the opportunity to watch this film, while my husband slept, and as a person who once upon a time used to read the Darwin Awards section in the Chicago Reader so that I can get my dose of being shocked, tickled in amusement and appalled all at once - I wanted to see this film.
It was "interesting" to say the least. What I liked about this film were the cameo appearances, the quirky acting from Fiennes and the fact that the writer did a good job at dissecting some of the odd behaviors that people do spontaneously thus suffering ridiculous, embarassing and preventable deaths that we happen to find amusing.
With that said, it was long and drawn out and although I laughed, I didn't care about the main characters in this film.
