Bracken's carefully built world is effectively brought to life in Yuh's The Darkest Minds. Other reviews will simply not do this movie justice. It is not a rip off of "X-men", it is not Hunger Games/Divergent/Twilight/Other YA adaptation rip off that older critics so desperately want to convince you it is.

It's story and characters have depth and development that is often lacking in both YA and book to film adaptations. It's ending leaves the audience engaged and overflowed with emotions. Each cast member fits their role beautifully, especially Amandla Stenberg, who portrays Ruby Daly, an escaped "orange" yearning for a safe haven.

Hopefully, the first movie will do well enough to continue the series. It certainly deserves a second movie!
