"The Darkest Hour" 10 Scale Rating: 4.0 (Bad) ...
The Good: It doesn't revolutionize the genre in any way, but the aliens were well done. I was dubious that "invisible aliens" was a way to lower the budget, but the effects were pretty good.
The Bad: Poor characterization and lackluster script. Most of the characters are cliches that we've already seen countless times. On top of that, you can guess five minutes in who is going to live and who is going to die.
