The Darkest Hour gets a few brownie points for not being yet another alien invasion film set in the US, and its not entirely a snooze-fest despite its made for TV feel. Its definitely sci-fi lite though; awful dialogue, poor acting and a wafer thin plot; but there is fun to be had here with the concept, only if you don't take it all too seriously.
