Review of The Darkest Hour (2011) by Tina V — 16 May 2012
No time is wasted getting to the invasion, a good bond is shown quickly between the two couples that will find themselves intertwined. The aliens don't get much time, explaination or screen time as they are mostly invisible to us so on that front a little flat.
I did enjoy it and I think its a sign that i'm getting older as I now find an element of personal discomfort when watching films where family and friends are all wiped out and I hate to think of the reality of that perspective.
On that note it was good middle of the road film with some action and a little sfx with the usual twenty somethings facing off against the odds. A lot of sitting and hiding is involved.
