Review of The Darkest Hour (2011) by Mark D — 15 Jun 2012
It looks as if I am starting to acquire the acute taste for accepting the element of surprise. In this tale of a totally and unsuspecting twist...two guys Sean (Emile Hirsch) and Ben (Max Minghella) owners of a website take a trip to Russia and discover that a consort, Skylar (Joel Kinnaman) has stolen their website design friendship idea and have them out on their luck.
While they are out in the club dampening their foul moods, they meet Natalie (Olivia Thirlby) and Anne (Rachael Taylor) who happen to be in Russia out on business. Sometime during the course of the night, the power goes out.
..and for some unexplained reason people get to turn into unexplained ashes and dust right in front of their eyes. As they fight against time to get out of the way of these mysterious beings they find that they have to rely on each other and themselves to outsmart the wicked electrical alien assassins.
The suspense is surreal! See this!
