"The Darkest Hour" is not the best movie that I saw, but the post-apocalyptic plot and effects are very good, but the 3D sucks. Another bad thing are the characters are lazy and is very predictable, everybody know "who die or not die" so the only shock was on Ben's death.
In conclusion, "The Darkest Hour" really is a passable movie for me.
