Review of The Darkest Hour (2011) by Jared M — 21 Apr 2013
How to make a movie that should be on the Sci-Fi channel, but instead gets a wide release: take a premise that is actually pretty good, spend all your budget on a pretty cool effect where people get turned into dust, leave yourself no money to hire quality actors or add any other effects that are even halfway decent (the reveal of the aliens is so laughable, it's like a bad version of the Langolears and an Alien mixed inside a thunderdrome), and set the movie in Russia, but make almost no use of the scenery.
