Review of The Darkest Hour (2011) by Brandon C — 23 Jun 2013
I am not really sure why the reviews for this movie are so bad. I really enjoyed this movie, it was a cool story of a post apocalyptic world in the immediate aftermath. The characters were not deep, that is the only complaint, everyone seemed rather black and white.
Other than that I loved the narrow scope of the movie, it focused on a small group of people trying to survive the unknown and then trying to fight back. The story was actually quite interesting and kept me hooked, its ending is ambiguous but hopeful.
The setting of Moscow is slightly annoying and turns out to be pointless, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles or some other American city would have been more familiar and more fun.
