Review of The Darkest Hour (2011) by Parker R — 08 Aug 2014
A sci-fi thriller about aliens invading the planet to steal or natural resources. The "twist": is that the heroes are college age students who are visiting Russia. While this gives us a backdrop that isn't familiar, everything else in this movie is run-of-the-mill.
The aliens, or what you could see of them, are generic looking (i.e. almost Alien rip off), the main characters fall in love, etc., etc. The tendrils of electricity and the disintegration effects were cool though.
Average movie.
