Review of The Dark Tower (2017) by Cole%20 R — 26 May 2018
I wish I could give this movie negative stars. hands down the worst movie of the 21st century. First of all, it is no where even close to how the book storyline. The writers take scenes from throughout the 7 books and piece them together to fit their own made up story, which by the way makes absolutely no sense.
They leave out 2 of the main characters from the book and the main character is basically irrelevant in the real storyline. They also make this a pg-13 movie which is a huge mistake because it is a very graphic book and because of this they take Roland (the main character of the books) and make him a secondary character to Jake Chambers to make it a more family friendly movie.
Along with the endless plot mistakes and changes, the only competent actor is Idris Elba. The fact that they have Matthew McConaughey just walking around and telling people to die and stop breathing is just ridiculous.
Stephen King should be suing the makers of this movie for just horribly ruining it as bad as they did. Once again, I only rate this movie one star because there is not a worse rating I can give it. Hands down one of the worst movies ever made.
The acting is so horrific that this action/ horror movie should be labeled as a comedy. If you have read the books, don't watch the movie, it will just make you angry, and if you haven't read the books, read them and you too will see how badly they have disgraced this series.
