I wasn't expecting much based on the poor reception but really enjoyed it. It seemed a tad rushed in places but as a fantasy adventure movie it hit the right notes and had strong performances. It might not compare at all to the books and might not be strong enough to kick off a franchise but if you just want a fun 90 minutes, give it a go.
