I almost let the critics scare me away from seeing this. I'm glad I didn't. I enjoyed the series and was really looking forward to seeing the adaptation. Knowing that the movie is another turn of the wheel and meant as a start of a franchise will help readers of the books enjoy the film, which never could have included everything from the books.

I went with my sister who hasn't read the series, but now wants to. She enjoyed the movie, followed the plot, and liked looking for the Stephen King Easter eggs throughout. 4 stars because I think it would have benefited from more backstory.
