Review of The Dark Tower (2017) by Justin E — 16 Aug 2017

I went with no expectation and was impressed with some facets of the film such as casting, effects, and genuinely beautiful world building ideas, however it felt extremely short and could have used 30 to 60 more minutes of storytelling. This could have been an Epic opening to a lengthy franchise, but ended up feeling rushed and dodgy in plot development.

It is not as bad as the critics have said, but I think most people will leave disappointed in something that had so many of the right ingredients. I would welcome a 2nd chance with a directors cut.
