Review of The Dark Tower (2017) by Taylor H — 06 Aug 2017
Once again I am riveted by the fact that professional movie critics are actually paid for their useless contributions. This movie (based off the novels) did quite a great job at picking up pace at a good rate, which is more than I'll give most movies.
The character development is well detailed and the story is clear and easy to follow. As does any movie based off of a book, the movie strays a bit from the original text, but it still maintains the heart of the story.
The acting in this movie was very well done, so props to the cast and extras for that. From a technical viewpoint the camera work is great, but lighting could have potentially been better in some scenes.
This may not be the most memorable movie, but it was enjoyable and makes for a great night at the theater. I definitely recommend watching, especially if you've read the books.
