Flawed but creatively executed King adaptation.
Was adapting the dark tower to a short feature film doomed to begin with? Yes. this should have been an introduction, like a series pilot.
The lead roles were all excellent, but much of the script, dialogue, adapted story and conclusion all felt unsophisticated... like a film made for children. The ending especially was flawed and felt tacked on.
But all in all, I found myself enjoying it in spite of these problems. My wife loved it and wants to buy it when it comes out. It's just a shame the execution doesn't live up to the source material.
