Review of The Dark Knight (2008) by Jacob S — 18 Jan 2016
Heath Ledger saves half of the movie's mistakes, Gary Oldman the other half, but the rest is sloppily done. The pacing is poor, the characters (with the exception of Ledger's Joker) are bad, the performance from Christian Bale is easy to laugh at, and the action fails to succeed because it's difficult to feel sympathetic for the hero, who is less interesting than the villain.
It ultimately becomes a mediocre action movie that is watchable because of its compelling villain.
