The Dark Knight (2008) ??
Visceral, uncompromisingly dark followup to BATMAN BEGINS where this time the Joker viciously attacks Gotham City on a routine basis and Batman tries to catch him but he proves a very crafty adversary. Unsettling, uncomfortable, and inescapably memorable chapter in the comic book series is also terribly overlong and extremely sick in its depiction of a world overrun by criminals. Awfully hard to take, yet not easy to forget. For a comic book adaption, Heath Ledger's rich performance belongs in a different movie.
