Review of The Dark Knight (2008) by Jamie I — 26 Jun 2016

Heath Ledger's Joker makes an appearance at the very beginning of the film.  Before he does though, William Fichtner cameos blasting a shotgun.  Very nice.  Not too long after another familiar face makes a cameo (not once but twice, three times) Cillian Murphy.

 I can't remember what happened to Crane at the end of Batman Begins (madness I'm certain) so I'll be doing the rewatch in a few.  I know, I know I shoulda done it before.  Christian Bale again embodies The Batman so perfectly, sitting on the precipice of madness and heroism.

 And what is Batman without The Joker.  I and many fans might tell you the same, Batman cannot exist in Gotham without him.  The late Heath Ledger appears as Gotham's craziest super villain, the role that some believe sent him to his death.

 I'm not sure if I believe all that but I do know is Heath quickly became my favorite Joker.  He is everything I've ever imagined the Joker to be.  He has quirks and is easily insane.  I can commend Nolan for staying true to the clouded origins of The Joker.

 Throughout the course of the film The Joker offers two almost three stories regarding his scarred face.  In addition, there is nothing traceable on The Joker's person right down to his fingerprints.

 In Gotham's records he doesn't exist and because of his madness he is a force to be reckoned with.  Though The Joker is the main draw of this film we shouldn't discount Two-Face.  And if you don't know Two-Face is in this film I'm pretty sure you live in a cave.

 Harvey Dent (Yummy Aaron Eckhart) is played up with the help of Bruce Wayne to be Gotham's "White Knight."  Unfortunately Dent is severely burned and refuses skin grafts.  I held my breath in anticipation.

 I couldn't wait to see how this film depicted Two-Face.  I was not disappointed.  Freaky man!  I think I can tell you no more lest spoilers start to leak.  .
