Review of The Dark Knight (2008) by Miles S — 13 Aug 2016
THE DARK KNIGHT is a thrilling and suspenseful action film with a riveting story. Though I was slightly disappointed with some scenes featuring Heath Ledger's Joker my expectations were exceeded by others, the performance is masterful as it shows a ruthless but still darkly humorous Joker that will never again be captured by another performer.
the titular character of batman was better acted and had more depth this time around this time around and the dynamic between Bale and Eckhart is good... but there's room for improvement, though Two-Face is very entertaining and well acted.
My favorite part of this movie would either be every single scene of the Joker at the police station or the ferry scene. The suspense about which ship would press the button was overwhelming, I was sure that the prisoner would detonate the bomb and then I was sure yet again the civilian would trigger the explosion.
The ending made you want more and was a dark and satisfying climax to such a great film. The themes were good and befitting a film of this stature, though not iconic they successfully accompanied the film though it's admittedly somewhat overlong narrative.
THE DARK KNIGHT is a dark and superior comic book adaptation that's is better than any superhero before or since. I'd give the THE DARK KNIGHT a 9.8/10.
