Review of The Darjeeling Limited (2007) by Monica M — 25 May 2012
I wasn't sure I wanted to see this film as great as Rushmore and The Royal Tennenbaums were and after the sort of tepid playfulness but no less quirky and inspired Life Aquatic. Francis,Pete, and Jack are three estranged brothers who have been reunited on a journey with an unspecified destination or purpose.
As the movie opens we are introduced to the emotional turbulent past and individual psyches of each of the three brothers. Unfortunately the movie just kind of slowly chugs along and like Owen Wilson's lackadaisical endeavor never really reaches any kind of emotional epiphany.
Still the cinematography and sets are stunning as ever.
