For Fans Of: Wes Anderson, Odd, Brotherhood.
Date Night: Nope.
Art Factor: High.
Fun Factor: Low.
Emotional Factor: Medium.
Intelligence Required: High.
Essential Viewing: No.
Now I am an admitted Anderson dork, but let this rating prove once and for all that that does not mean I will jack up a rating based just on what a film did for me. Cause honestly, and I think I speak for most Anderson geeks, this movie was kick-ass. But just like I do with all of my other reviews and ratings, rate and review based on previous efforts by said directors/producers. Taking Limited into that context, the movie is till amazing, but just not on the same level as Rushmore or Tenenbaums. I found this one to be a tad more earnest than the previous two I mentioned, but that doesn't mean it is better. The camera work is still there as proof positive that Anderson is one of the best young film makers in the world. Loved the casting on this one also. If Anderson's previous efforts were a tad to cheeky for you, maybe give this one a shot. It might just convert you.
