Review of The Darjeeling Limited (2007) by Geoffrey T — 11 Apr 2012
Wes Anderson's 'Darjeeling Limited' is the brilliant director's most mature film, but that is not synonymous with his best. I did not find the film as funny as the gems 'Rushmore' or 'Royal Tenenbaums', not even 'The Life Aquatic'.
But it had its strong points of hilarity, emotion, and substance. The acting trio are engaging, and Yeoman's continued brilliance behind the camera should be duly noted for capturing the beautiful landscape and for making the camerawork interesting on the train.
Wes Anderson fans will be guaranteed delight in this film, but for others it may be harder to grasp his style. Either way, 'Darjeeling Limited' is another great film from this innovative director.
