Review of The Darjeeling Limited (2007) by Bradm. — 04 Mar 2008
"All the characters are fictional." I love how Wes is always making these little jabs at the critics and how aware he is of his art. He is not afraid to take blows and sustain his vision. The movie was amazing.
It is one of those works that makes you want to make films. The guy from the San Francisco Chron. is a moron. This film sticks with you after you watch it and has so many good lines. It is an honest commentary on the materialistic, spiritually lost and drug hazy American pilgrim.
When the baggage is left behind in the last scene it is classic Salinger. I love how watching Anderson films is like reading Salinger's Nine Stories-- they get better every time you read/watch them.
Bravo, Wes, "No, seriously, I just don't think they got it.
