Review of The Darjeeling Limited (2007) by Keng. — 09 Nov 2007
A flawed but overall, worthwhile piece of work. It overstays it's welcome, as all the stuff with Angelica Huston feels corny and uncessary (film should have ended with brothers getting on plane at airport, rather than them tearing up their tickets and going off to find Huston).
Films also works better while there is a bit of a chill in the air between the brothers, than it does later on, when the chill thaws, and things become much more warm, fuzzy and sappy between the brothers.
But most of the film is pulled of with offbeat humor, charm, heart, good performances, and likable characters.
