Review of The Danish Girl (2015) by Craig B — 09 Dec 2015
Remayne achieves something special, for sure, but the center of gravity for me was Vikander, who was divine as the supportive wife of Redmayne's transgender pioneer who struggles simultaneously with his baffling desires and her own liberated journey as a painter.
Redmayne's general affect has always been a bit gender-fluid, so the physical transformation isn't that startling. The best bits are revealed as Lili steps into her own womanhood and is surprised at what she feels.
