Review of The Danish Girl (2015) by Matthew F. J — 14 Dec 2015
Acted quite intensely by an impeccable cast, this film didn't strike any sort of chord with me. I felt completely left out and could not in any ways relate to the characters and what was going on within their dynamics.
It's a well directed film, the cinematography is quite good through I was annoyed at times by the huge numbers of close ups. I didn't quite understand why the whole film felt like actors were whispering and crying every other scene, but I guess this was an artistic choice from the team.
I'm sure the film will inevitably find an audience and probably earn a few nominations but personally I was disappointed and found the film stretched and overlong.
