Review of The Danish Girl (2015) by Jose A — 26 Dec 2015
Tom Hooper ( Les Miserable , The King Speech) comes this time with a novel adaptation by the same name with the recently Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne and the beautiful talented actress Alicia Vikander who this year is in multiple films such as Ex-Machina and The Man of U.N.C.L.E.
The film is a character complex love story about the married couple Eigar Wegener and Gerda Wegener. When Gerda tell her husband to stand and as female role for one of her paintings Eigar Wegener feels different with this second identity called Lili Elbe and what begins as "game" turns to be a real and hard situation that will changed their lives.
The acting performances are great for both of them , also nominated for the Golden Globes. the composer Alexander Desplat and Director Tom Hooper are really good at it and are also nominated.
