Not my cup of tea, but still a movie that has two great performances in its two leads. The Danish Girl is about two artists. Gerda Wegener (Alicia Vikander who is absolutely fantastic in this) and her husband Einar Wegener (Eddie Redmayne).

Einar has a secret and it comes out one day when Gerda has him pose for her as a stand in female model. Einar believes himself to be a woman in a mans body and begins her transformation into Lili Elbe.

Gerda first starts it off as a game, but soon realizes this is real. They visit many doctors and many of them deem Einar/Lili to be insane. Gerda is stuck between her own feelings of losing her husband the man she loves, but because she loves him so much she supports him fully into becoming a woman.

The movie has powerful performances by Vikander and Redmayne. It's hard not to feel for Gerda and its beautiful seeing the love they have for each other. Unfortunately, for me the movie moves at a super slow pace.

Vikander steals every scene and for me she is the one person who keeps the heart of the film going. I found Einar/Lili to start to just kinda stick to the same formula throughout the film and it slogs it down.

Overall, if the source material interests ya give this one a look. For me personally Vikander is the one reason to check this one out!
