Review of The Danish Girl (2015) by Patty L G — 04 Mar 2016
LILEHH. Danish Girl has awesome locations to film, good acting, but a very stupid plot/overall movie. Okay let's break it down. Danish girl does NOT use common sense! The writer and director were so busy in making us transgender supporters that they forgot to use common sense. First, Lilly looks exactly like the main guy! And people treat him like a different person all of a sudden and if we step back and think I am damn sure we can tell that's NOT Lilly but Eniar every thing about Lilly roars "look at me I AM THE SAME GUY YOU IDIOTS!" Secondly, so Eniar out of a sudden wants to be a girl...I mean I know it's based loosely on a true story but I think to show more character and the "want" to be a girl they needed to show him being different in his early young life. Third, WHY IS ENIAR BATMAN! It's like he goes.
And becomes batman! Takes off his clothes and changes into Lilly the vigilante batman. Fourth and the biggest issue is that doesn't the wife know he clearly enjoys it and then proceeds to go on with the "prank" I mean the writing was so cringe worthy for me. To be fair I have nothing against people coming out but this film does it in a very comical way. It's just weird to see Eddie Redmayne do these roles before he takes over one of my all time favorite franchise the Harry Potter series.
