I remember I picked up the book one day at the bookstore looking for something to hold me over while I was waiting for my indoor soccer matches. When I later heard it was becoming a movie I was thrilled.
The comic book scenes are fantasitc and this "coming of age" film definetely teaches you a thing or two in the end. And with a super cast (Jodie Foster, Vincent D'Onofrio, and three great indie-film stars: Jenna Malone, Kieran Culkin and Emile Hirsch) it just makes the film.
