Review of The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys (2002) by Ryan Z — 12 Apr 2008
I hadn't seen this since it came out in theaters, so I watched it again and felt the same way I did 6 years ago - though it is a coming of age story, it's more unique than half the crap that gets released mainstream.
Hirsch, Malone and Culkin are some of the most talented actors from my age bracket and their performances (with those of Foster and D'Onofrio) make the movie. The script and animated sequences are great, but it's the believable relationships between the characters that pull you in and keep you there.
