"The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys" features interesting characters that the audience will be able to relate to and cool animation by Todd McFarlane, but it is bogged down with too many plot threads, some of which go nowhere.
As a coming of age story, it is interesting and although it bounces too much between silly ideas and very dark subjects to leave you satisfied at the end it's worth a watch. (VHS, February 2012).
