Review of The Dancer Upstairs (2002) by Jonathan B — 05 Nov 2007
Malkovich is clearly at least as good a director as he is an actor, doing a wonderful job perfectly shot drama/mystery. Javier Bardem proves again why he's the best actor who hasn't really broken through in America yet (His Oscar nomination didn't buy him mainstream recognition on the level he deserves, which No Country for Old Men will hopefully change).
The film is a little slow and you should not watch it if youâ??re in the mood for a thriller or something that you'd expect Hollywood to put out.
