Review of The Damned United (2009) by Ethan T — 11 Dec 2009
From an American standpoint, this film about 1960s-70s British football (soccer) coach Brian Clough is just plain interesting and it struck my curiosity like few movies this year. Michael Sheen is finally at the forefront (after playing supporting roles in "Frost/Nixon", and "The Queen") where he proves that he is one of the best Brit actors around.
Those of you looking for a sports movie won't find much here. The film is more about Clough's ego, and it's probably best off that way.
